Note, this help file currently applies to users of GoodTime Meet that are on Google Workspace.

Overview

When you send out calendar invites to your guests, you may want to change the “From” name on the automated email that is sent via Google Calendar so invites don’t come from your name.

Use Cases

Generally, this option is used when a group wants to brand their invitations as coming from the organization rather than the individual who sent out the scheduling link.

Sales & Marketing

You may want your invitations to appear as they are coming from your company’s general sales or marketing team instead of your personal account

Customer Success & Support

The agent who will support the call may switch frequently, so you want the invitation to appear to be coming from a more generic support or success account.

NOTE: Calendar invitation emails are sent directly from Google and not directly controlled by GoodTime Meet. This method instructs Google that the calendar invitation is created on a particular calendar and has been found to change the from name. This behavior may be subject to change by Google.

Steps to Change “From” Name

Calendar events sent from Google are sent directly from Google’s calendar services. The services set the from name to that of the calendar the event is created on. In order to change the calendar your scheduling links are writing to, follow the steps below.

  1. Ensure that you have proper access to the shared calendar in Google. Guide on how to follow another calendar. You may need to ask the calendar owner for access. Make sure you have read and write access to the calendar

  2. Go to the GoodTime Meet Links page

  3. Click on New Scheduling Link and select a link type. If you’re editing an existing link, select the link you’d like to edit and press the pencil button.

  4. Scroll down to the calendar description section
